National deputies from various opposition blocs signed a bill to declare an environmental, economic, and housing emergency in Bahía Blanca, Coronel Rosales, and other municipalities affected by a recent storm in the region. The main objective is to collaborate with the government of the Province of Buenos Aires and the municipalities to provide support to the victims of adverse climatic conditions, which have had a significant impact both economically and socially.
About 60 legislators, including Julio Pereyra (UxP), Miguel Ángel Pichetto (EF), Karina Banfi (UCR), Juan Manuel López (CC), Nicolas Massot (EF), Facundo Manes (Democracy), Margarita Stolbizer (EF), Cristian Ritondo (PRO), and Máximo Kirchner (UxP), backed the initiative. The proposal aims to establish a 90-day emergency period in the areas affected by the storm, with the purpose of implementing measures that contribute to the recovery and reconstruction of the areas hit by the natural disaster.
According to the legislators, the current situation in the region constitutes a serious crisis, especially due to the floods that have affected critical areas such as the Provincial Hospital José M. Penna, which has experienced electrical failures and is overwhelmed by flooding in its basement, causing serious complications in its operation. Deputy Victoria Tolosa Paz, from Unión por la Patria (UxP), promoted the initiative and emphasized the importance of the National State providing all necessary technical and financial assistance for the recovery of the areas devastated by the storm.
